DON'T MISS FOGL'S BIG BOOK SALE APRIL 3rd

by Maggie Jacobson

The Book Nook, located in the basement of the Library, is open every Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  It is an opportunity to purchase books at bargain prices, have coffee and goodies, and meet your friends and neighbors.  The Book Nook, which is staffed by volunteers, raised over $17,000 last year.  This money supports Groveland Library salaries, the County Book Catalogue, and other needs of the Groveland Library, such as the Summer Reading Program.

Special Book Sales, with additional savings, are held around most holidays.  The Valentine’s Day Sale featured romance novels at reduced prices.

Our annual spring basket sale is scheduled for April 3rd.  The baskets, beautifully decorated by Joan Hart one of our Book Nook cashiers, featuring Chocolate, Italian and Book Lover themes are on display in the Library.  Raffle tickets can be purchased in the library or at the Saturday Book Sales.  The drawing will be held at the April 3rd Book Sale, you need not be present to win. The Spring Book Sale will feature hard back books at $.50.  Yes, you read the right, fifty cents!   Recently published books are priced only slightly higher.

Most of us read a book once.  Once read, we often share our books with friends.  The Book Nook offers a wonderful opportunity to donate books for your Groveland friends to them. Maybe they will even redonate them to continue the cycle.  The Book Nook and our regular library are both wonderful resources for an unending supply of books.  Through the County’s intra- library loan procedures every book in the Tuolumne system is available for library patrons.
