Passed away December 25, 2005, age 84. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; his children Sally Miller, Joann Baird, Janet (Greg) Burback and Johne Baird; grandchildren Megan Eagle, Kacie Miller, Taylor and Thomas Burback, and Steven Baird all of Madrone. Nieces Sandee Baird of Los Banos, Nancy Mendonca of Chico and Nephew Tom Baird of Fresno.
He was born October 3, 1921 in Groveland, CA to Charlie and Louise Baird. He attended school in Livermore, CA. Worked on numerous ranches and in the mines before serving his country during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Following discharge from the Army, he became a Brand Inspector for the State of California, a position which his oldest daughter, Sally, holds today. In 1951, he married Barbara, daughter of Jere and Lillie Sheldon, owners of the Tilton Ranch in Madrone. Upon Mr. Sheldon's death in 1961, Harold took over the day to day operations of the cattle ranch.
He was a member of the Santa Clara County Cattlemen's Association since 1955 and served as president, secretary, director, and local director in the state organization. He served on the Morgan Hill Rural Fire District Board, which is now South Santa Clara County Fire District, from 1961 to 2004. Upon his retirement, his daughter Janet was appointed to the board.
Served as trustee of the Morgan Hill Burnett School Board, Honorary member of the Morgan Hill Future Farmers, past president of the Morgan Hill Lions Club, Loma Prieta Resource Conservation District, Gilroy Elks, Morgan Hill Citizen of the Year 1975 and a large supporter of local 4-H and FFA Youth.
Preceded in death by his son Alvin Baird, and brothers Marvin and Jack Baird.

Alvin Howard Baird, a fourth generation Californian, died in Madrone on Friday, Jan. 10, 2003.
Al, as he was known, was born June 10, 1953, in Gilroy to Harold and Barbara Baird. He attended local grammar schools and graduated from Live Oak High School in 1971 and then CalPoly San Luis Obispo.
He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, horseback riding and reading. Al recently retired, due to health problems, from CB Tool and Supply in San Jose where he was a machinist.
Besides his two grieving cats, Al leaves behind his parents Harold and Barbara of Madrone; siblings Sally Miller of Mt. Hamilton, Joann Baird, Janet Burback and Johne Baird all of Madrone; and nieces and nephews Megan and Kacie Miller of Mt Hamilton, Taylor and Thomas Burback and Steven Baird, all of Madrone.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lilie Tilton Sheldon.
As per his wishes, arrangements were made for cremation with private services. Contributions can be made to a favorite charity.

News was received in Mariposa just before going to press, of the death of G. W. HOBRON of Coulterville. Mr. HOBRON is an old and well known citizen of Coulterville, having lived there for a great number of years. He was engaged in lumber business and has been identical with that business of years. He was an honest, well meaning upright citizen who had many friends who will regret to learn of his demise. He was about 72 years of age. For some time he has been ailing and a short time ago suffered a paralytic stroke.

Former County Man Dies At Modesto
S. Douglas HOBRON, 65, a native of Coulterville, Mariposa county, died at his home in Modesto on April 13th, 1923.
"Duggie" as he was familiarly known by a large circle of friends, was a man of noble qualities. He was honest and just in all his dealings and never failed to relieve those in want or distress. In his death a good man has passed to his reward.
Mr. HOBRON was engaged in the saw mill business in the Red Cloud section for many years, continuing the business that his father had established in the early days.
After his mill was destroyed by fire, he went to Coulterville and engaged in the mercantile business. After disposing of his business in Coulterville, he moved to Modesto with his family and lived there up to the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth HOBRON, three sons, Ferris, Clarence and Earl HOBRON, all of Modesto, and two daughters, Mrs. Bell LANCY of Coulterville, and Mrs. Maud BRIDGES of Modesto.
The funeral was held at Modesto on Monday, April 16th, at 2 o'clock p.m. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the body to its last resting place.

Former Sonora resident Raymond Narcisco Bisordi died May 14 at an Oregon hospital. He was 90.
He was born in Groveland and was the son of Narcisco and Amelia (De Ferrari) Bisordi. He attended Sonora High School and graduated from Livermore High School. He attended technical school in Los Angeles. He worked in sound departments for Columbia Pictures, R.K.O. Pictures, Warner Bros., and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc., on many films including "Dr. Zhivago," "Ice Station Zebra," "Grand Prix," "West World" and "2001 — A Space Odyssey."
After retiring from MGM as a sound engineer, he lived in Watsonville, Los Banos, Groveland and Sonora. He most recently had lived in Applegate, Ore., for two months.
He enjoyed surf fishing, gardening and traveling.
Mr. Bisordi is survived by his wife of 23 years, June Bisordi of Applegate; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Leon and Louise Bisordi of Burbank, Larry and Velma Bisordi of Dos Palos, Merced County, and Robert Bisordi of Fair Oaks; grandchildren and their spouses, Raymond and Angela Bisordi, and Larry and Denise Bisordi, all of Burbank, and Chuck and Andrea Bisordi of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Branden and Jason Bisordi, and Megan, Carley and Brooke Bisordi, all of Burbank, and Ben and Sam Bisordi of Colorado; a sister, Delma Donovan of Groveland; nieces and nephews, Patricia Bock of San Geronimo, Christine Gookin of Columbia, Tim Donovan of Davis, and Dawn Ashbach of Guemes Island, Wash; cousins, Carlo De Ferrari and Ken Bisordi, both of Sonora, and Shirley Beerman of Jamestown; and other relatives, Roy and Ruth DeVee of Williams, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Eileen Bisordi; a sister, Christine (Bisordi) Hale; and a brother, Charles D. Bisordi.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to a favorite charity.
Conger-Morris Funeral Home in Central Point, Ore., is handling arrangements.
