• Death*: December, 1992 brought torrential rain storms to Tuolumne County. On the evening of December 28, the runoff was so bad on both the Old and New Priest Grades that they were threatened with closure. Todd drove an older, compact car with typical teen driver abandon. He started up Old Priest Grade with assurance, driving as he always would and passing several SUV's that had pulled off the road in the deluge -- one driven by a family friend who recognized Todd's car. Near the point that the Hetch Hetchy Railroad Grade crossed Old Priest Grade, the force of the runoff washed Todd's car off the grade. The car and Todd's body were found in Grizzly Creek the next day.^1,2
